Have we got the recipe for you.
As the temperatures are dropping and the chunky knits are out in full force, what better way to welcome in the winter months than with a boozy fiery brew? Jason Clark has just the recipe for us!
Sumptuous and warming for those chillier nights.
Coffee cocktails have gotten a whole lot more delicious with Jason Clark, a.k.a the Drinks Geek, and his new book The Art& Craft of Coffee Cocktails. He has created countless recipes that are nothing short of decadent and indulgent - we’ve picked a lovely winter warmer to share with you all, the Gingernut Latte!
This cocktail is designed to be sumptuous and warming for those chillier nights, perfect for a quiet cosy night at home. Jason recommends using oat milk as it matches really well with the ginger spice and whisky, but you can use whatever milk you have at home (cashew, almond, soy or dairy).
Ingredients:
45ml/ 1 1/2 oz whisky
10ml/1/3 oz golden syrup
120ml/ 4 oz oat milk
1/2 tsp dried ginger powder
Dash of cinnamon powder
1 shot of espresso
To garnish:
Gingernut cookie crumbs and gingernut cookies served on the side (optional)
Method:
Add all the ingredients except the coffee to a milk frother and turn on the hot setting. While that’s warming, extract your shot and pour it into a coffee cup. I recommend using a wide-mouthed glass so you can dunk your cookies.
Once the milk has heated, pour it over the top of the coffee. Garnish with gingernut cookie crumbs, and serve with gingernut cookies on the side, if you wish.
